We visited the orlando science center
On Saturday, we visited the Orlando Science Center! This is somewhere we’ve been wanting to visit since we moved here about a year ago.
We were over the moon to be able to visit finally. The Orlando Science Center is a four story building that includes a TON of excitement for your kids but also, the adults!
They have so many exhibits to explore!
Science Fiction
We visited the Science Fiction and Future section, which is a great walk through of what science can look like with futuristic flare!
We really enjoyed this exhibit! You were able to see what a hologram would look like and what it would look like if you were able to be “beamed up” to space! There were some awesome robot set ups too! Even one that mimicked your face through a camera, which my son enjoyed a lot!
KidsTown
I feel this may have been my sons favorite exhibit, and I understand why. It was so kid friendly and made it fun to explore!
They had a large water area where your kids could play and explore, which was a massive hit!
While we spent a ton of time in the water area they also had a play gym and a building area! He was able to stack and build large, soft block and also play with air to make things fly out into the air!
And of course, I can’t forget the Orange Grove (because well… Florida). They had an awesome room where it showed how the oranges are planted, grown, picked, and packaged to be sold! It was a really awesome place for kids to learn a little about farming in our state.
NatureWorks Was Pretty Awesome Too
This area had a lot of animals and insects for the kids to look at. We got to see baby alligators, spiders, snakes and more!
I personally, love baby gators, but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
It was really interesting to read about all the animals and where they come from, how they live, and what their species status is!
DinoDigs Was Another Big Hit
DinoDigs was really an awesome area to learn about dinosaurs! I, myself, am not huge on the history of dinosaurs, but this area really made it interesting!
You were able to look at a lot of fossils and they even had an interactive screen to make it look like the dinosaur was in the room with you, which kids loved!
You were even able to dig up some fossils of your own!
It’s A Must Go!
If you are ever in the Orlando area, I highly recommend taking an afternoon (or morning) and checking it out! It was a great way to spend the afternoon!
We learned a lot we didn’t know (adults included!) and made it a really fun experience!
